You have to find the correct combination of buttons to open all 7 gates. Use 7 buttons in the upper section (buttons can be toggled).
To find the solution, crawl to the little room with a big box on the right. If you move the box (or destroy the floor under it) you'll see the number 109 written behind it. Assuming it's decimal, the number translates to binary 11011012, which is the solution (1 = button on, 0 = off).
Alternatively you can do it by trial and error - just press random buttons until all gates are open. Eventually you'll notice some patterns (which button toggles which gates). You'll need to go below a few times to remove the "fog of war" and actually see the gates.
