Consumables are items that are used up upon having their effects applied. They can be found in the Equipment section and can give various effects when used. Some heal, some apply stat bonuses for limited time, and others offer unique effects such as opening locks or permanently boosting your stats.

Medicine[]

Medicines can commonly be found in medical supplies and cabinets found everywhere. Most medicines are sold by Doc Sepsis.

Healing[]

Your main source of staying alive will be various healing medicines. These can be used to recover from damage, or fix body parts.

Effectiveness of healing potions can be improved by investing into Medicine.

Chemicals[]

Various drugs that will give you a temporary boost to various stats. After the effect ends, you'll suffer from after-effects that will reduce those stats. If used too much, addiction will occur which permanently lowers those stats unless more chemicals are taken.

Some chemicals can not be used with other chemicals, replacing the effects (or after effects) of the first chemical. Med-X, Rage and Stampede are different, only replacing the buffs, not the after effects.

Detoxin can be used to reduce chemical addiction, as well as remove all chemical buffs and after effects.

Combat stimulators perk will improves the effects of chemicals. Hydra is the exception to both addiction and improvement.

Potions[]

Potions are consumables that give you a large variety of unique effects. Some must be brewed at a laboratory bench, while others can be bought from Dusty Nebula.

Potions with permanent effects[]

These potions can be drunk to permanently boost your stats. Most can only be drunk 5 times, with the exceptions being Potion of Life, Potion of Spirit and Potion of Mind Expansion. Any more will have no effect.

After every level up, you can find a total of 5 potions of life, potions of spirit, skill books or memory orbs. Once 5 have been found they will stop spawning, requiring you to level up again.

You grow bat wings and can fly. Long-press [space] or double press [space] to take off. Press [space] to land. You can't "sprint" left of right, however pressing [shift] will speed up ascension/descension.

Potion of the Last Chance Taking fatal damage while under the effect prevents the death and grants the Absolute protection buff. This removes the effect. 120 Potion is unobtainable without console commands. potion_chance
Potion of transformation Turns you into a desman, allowing you to climb into very narrow passages. Can be cancelled early by pressing [F]. Can be used many times (potion doesn't disappear from inventory after being used). When the effect expires (or [F] is pressed) and there isn't enough space to turn back to pony form, you will remain a desman until there's enough space. Food[]

Food can be found in various containers like desks, kitchen cabinets and fridges, as well as dropped by raiders, slavers and mercenaries. Food is also sold by Daiquiri and Holly Shine. Some food you are unable to eat, and need to prepare them in other meals.

Meals[]

Meals give you buffs to various stats for 900 seconds, or 15 minutes, but only 1 type of food can be active at a time. Eating something new will replace the old buff with the new one.

Skill books[]

Skill books can be found within safes and bookshelves, and rarely inside desks. They are used to increase one of your skills. Using a skill book will also give you a pre-war book. Using a skill book when a skill is already maxed out will randomly increase Attack, Defense or Knowledge skills instead.

Memory orbs are only found in safes. Using one gives you a skill point to increase any of your skills.

After every level up, you can find a total of 5 potions of life, potions of spirit, skill books or memory orbs. Once 5 have been found they will stop spawning, requiring you to level up again.
