Second grind map.
For trials in this location, see Category:Sewers trials.
Layout[]
Sewer maps are usually about 8 rooms wide and always 3 rooms tall. Second row of rooms is partially filled with water, and bottom rooms are totally submerged, which changes the gameplay drastically.
Most of the trials will appear in underwater rooms, requiring you to dive down in order to reach them. One trial is always guaranteed to spawn in the 4th room in the top layer, and will always be Camp if it has not been completed yet.
Game progress[]
This map serves as a sneaky way to go around the main entrance of Falls Springs. Other way is to attack the main entrance, but it can be quite hard.
That being said, this map is not very pleasant. However it can be completed quickly, by sticking to the topmost rooms - this way you don't have to go underwater (because EXIT doors are located at the right far side). You only need to get through one Sewers map to advance in the game.
Gameplay[]
Constant radiation and underwater rooms make Sewers dangerous to the unprepared player. Unless you like fighting ghouls, bats and bloatsprites while stumbling over slimes and being constantly irradiated and poisoned, you won't like this map.
Protection against radiation and poison will be very useful here. All of the water is irradiated, and there are many radioactive barrels and poisonous gas clouds. Radaways will be one of the most helpful tools for surviving.
The simplest way of protecting yourself against radiation is the Anti-Radiation suit, offering a large amount of resistance. However it will end up replacing your currently equipped armor, forcing you to constantly switch between good protection and radiation resistance.
Other ways of protecting yourself against radiation are Rad-X and Oatmeal, which increase you resistances temporarily, or Immunity potions and Adaptive metabolism perk, which will increase your radiation resistance permanently. All of these things (except the armor) will stack additively, resulting in 90% radiation resistance with all active at once (95-97% while also wearing the Anti-Radiation suit).
Underwater rooms[]
Underwater rooms appear on the lowest layer of the map. They are completely submerged under radioactive water, which drastically changes how you move around and fight. Most enemies here are replaced with fish, except for ghouls.
Underwater rooms use the same layouts as normal ones. This means you won't be able to go through some narrow passages as you can't crouch underwater. Using weapons that are capable of destroying walls can help here, such as "Burglar's Mate" or explosives.
Diver's potion is recommended as it greatly increases mobility and the amount of time you can breathe underwater. If you do not have those, both Anti-Radiation suit and chemical protection suit will greatly extend the time you can spend underwater. You'll need to return to the surface to catch your breath sometimes, but much less frequently than without the suit. The Anti-Radiation suit is very useful here due to also giving radiation resistance against the radioactive water.
Some weapons and spells work differently underwater - e.g. melee weapons swing slower. Other weapons don't work at all - e.g. most energy weapons. It's recommended to use firearms, as they have no problems working underwater. Some spells that don't deal magical damage (e.g. Ice shards, Ghost blades) can also be used.
Your companion can't accompany you to fully submerged rooms, and MAS terminals will not spawn down here either.
