Fallout Equestria: Remains Wiki

Turrets are powerful magical energy weapons and firearms mounted onto walls and stands that automatically shoot targets.

Behaviour[]

Turrets are usually stationary - mounted on ceilings, walls, or stands. Wall turrets can be mounted on rails, which gives them a limited degree of movement.

A turret's mode is indicated by a light on the front of it. Yellow light means it's idle and will repeatedly rotate in a searching motion. Orange light means it's watching an area due to detecting movement. Red light means it's hostile and will open fire on anything it considers dangerous, including other enemies if they've accidentally attacked it.

Most turrets only have a limited area of vision, and will not attack you if you're in a place where they can't see you, for example ceiling turrets can be approached from above, and armored turrets from behind. If a turret is in idle mode you can move into it's line of sight for a short time before it will attack.

Turrets usually use rapid-fire guns, which deal huge amounts of damage in a short time. They sometimes appear with a variety of slow, high damage energy weapons, making them especially dangerous to improperly armored players.

Some ceiling turrets can hide, making them hard to spot. Such turrets will not attack unless you trigger an alarm or make a loud noise, however some that have no trigger will attack regardless.

Strategy[]

There are several ways to neutralize turrets:

  • Directly shoot them - while the most obvious way, it can sometimes be the only way. It might be a good idea to hide behind some cover. A long-range weapon is a good choice, as turrets usually have rapid-fire guns, which are not very accurate. As with all robots, EMP weapons work well against turrets, stunning them and dealing high damage.
  • Use explosives and Telekinesis - levitate a grenade or other explosive close to turret from a safe place. Dynamite works well as it has long detonation time.
  • Attack from their blind spot - most turrets don't have a 360 degree field of vision and walls can get in the way, allowing you to approach them without danger and destroy them (even with melee weapons).
  • Use a security terminal - you can often find a red security terminal, which can disable all turrets in a given room.
    • With the Security Expert perk, hacking a security terminal reprograms turrets to shoot your enemies, which takes care both of turrets and other enemies at the same time.
  • Use Telekinesis to pull turrets out from walls and ceilings - works well with the Master of telekinesis perk, as you don't have to be in line of sight with the turret. Doesn't work on turrets that can hide in ceiling.
  • Attack using your companion - using the [U] key can guide a companion to a turret's location, where it can be commanded to attack said turret.
